Dr. Silvina Galperin, D. Psych., C. Psych.
Founder and Director of CBT Psychology for Personal Development
Silvina Galperin, Registered Psychologist is the team leader at CBT Psychology for Personal Development. Dr. Galperin supervises the work of all the associates and organizes monthly presentations on different therapeutic topics in order to promote continuous education and provide the best quality of service to our clients.
Dr. Galperin has extensive experience in individual, couples and group therapy. She is trained and experienced in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Compassion-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Meditation.
Dr. Galperin received her Doctoral Degree in Psychology from the University of Belgrano, in Argentina and became registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario in 2005. Her background includes professional positions with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), the Toronto District School Board, Shift Cognitive Therapy, Vaughan Psychologists and Black Creek Community Health Centre. She is fluent in both Spanish and English.
Dr. Stacy Lekkos, PhD
Stacy Lekkos earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Roosevelt University, Chicago. She is currently a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Dr. Lekkos uses various treatment approaches, including CBT psychology, dialectical behavioural therapy, solution-focused, interpersonal, psychodynamic, and client-centered.
She has conducted process-oriented groups for individuals with depression, CBT groups for the treatment of sleep and chronic pain, and DBT groups for the treatment of emotional dysregulation. Dr. Lekkos provides assessment and therapeutic intervention for people experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges. She works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Additionally, she is bilingual and can offer clients therapy in Greek.
Dr. Jane Mizevich, PhD, C.Psych.
Dr. Jane Mizevich is a psychologist registered in clinical and counselling psychology with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Dr. Mizevich has trained and worked at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, and Ryerson University’s Centre for Student Development and Counselling.
In her work with clients, Dr. Mizevich takes a client centered collaborative approach in order to help her clients feel heard and understood. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) psychology and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), as well as integrates other treatment modalities, including Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Dr. Mizevich has worked with clients with a variety of difficulties and is especially proficient in treating anxiety disorders, depression, borderline personality disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and trauma.
Dr. Fern Kagan, PhD
Fern Kagan holds a PhD in clinical psychology from York University. She has been working as a therapist with couples, adults, and students in university counseling centers, outpatient and private practice settings for over 6 years.
Fern specializes in working with people who are struggling to improve their relationships; beginning with the one they have with themselves and extending to the ones they have with their partners and significant people in their lives. She particularly enjoys helping people connect with their strengths and live a life that expresses who they truly are.
Fern works from an emotion-focused, client-centered frame that respects people as being the authority on their experience and recognizes the key role that emotions play in our lives. In her spare time, Fern enjoys writing, painting, making jewelry and interior decorating.
Ann Gelsheimer, MEd, DTS, MA, C. Psych. Assoc.
Ann Gelsheimer has been providing comprehensive psychological assessment for children, teens, and adults for more than 10 years. Ann is warm and approachable with a good sense of humour, and children, teens, and adults find it easy and comfortable to work with her. She is committed to truly understanding and assisting each unique client using a range of comprehensive psychological assessment methods.
Ann initiated and managed the Seneca Assessment and Brief Intervention Clinic for many years as well as providing psychological and psychoeducational assessments in private practice. She served as a Psychological Consultant at the Upper Grand District School Board for several years, and serving as the lead Mental Health Specialist in the high schools. Ann was particularly helpful in assessing, understanding and identifying next steps to help students whose complex difficulties were puzzling to school staff, General Practitioners, and Paediatricians, and also in assisting educators in recognizing and responding to the needs of students with mental health problems in their classrooms.
Andrea Victor, RSW
Andrea Victor is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers since 2001. She has a strong knowledge base in the area of trauma, specifically childhood and recent sexual assault/abuse. Andrea is deeply passionate about this work. She has taken many trauma informed workshops on a variety of modalities, including Narrative Approaches, Feminist Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Staged Trauma Therapy.
Andrea is also an EMDR Clinician. She currently works at the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Care Centre in Scarborough. Previously, she has worked at another Ontario Sexual Assault Treatment Centre; The Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Care Centre (DASA) of York region, interned at the York Region Abuse Program (YRAP) as well as worked at the Durham Rape Crisis Centre.
