A Little Bit About You…
The Clinical Director role includes clinical work as well as Clinical Director duties. As a seasoned clinician and leader, you have experience supervising other mental health professionals, promoting the continued education of the team, and feel comfortable developing guidelines and procedures to address different scenarios.
Clinical Director Duties
- Provide clinical supervision and consultation to the CBT Psychology clinicians. This supervision includes chart auditing, PHIPA compliance and ethical adherence, clinical supervision, consultation, and guidance surrounding aspects of clinical practice in a group setting (collecting fees, scheduling, client retention, rapport building, responses to record requests, etc.). Conduct group supervision meetings and 1:1 as required by associates.
- Conduct bi-annual clinical chart audits to ensure compliance with the professional regulatory body (College of Psychologists of Ontario).
- Conduct performance reviews and implement corrective action plans, as needed.
- Engage in community relationship-building opportunities
- Facilitate bi-monthly team meetings/clinical consultation groups. Actively encourage participation by clinical team members.
- Act as a leader, working closely and collaboratively with clinical and administrative team members to achieve the best results.
- Identify Clinical Operation inefficiencies for improvement.
- Redefining guidelines, working with the team for successful implementation of those guidelines, and assuring that as a team we are moving forward together.
- Experience or interest in implementing and leading internship and/or practicum programs
- Experience or interest in implementing group therapy programs
- Involvement in the development of marketing materials for the programs and services
Therapist Duties
- Completion of clinical documentation (case notes & treatment planning) within 24 hours of the session
- Provide new clients with a thorough “orientation” to the treatment experience at CBT Psychology which includes a warm welcome along with discussions about consent to treatment and disclosures (i.e. limits to confidentiality, late cancel policy, etc.)
- Deliver a Coordination of Care letter (fax or mail) to physicians, psychiatrists, school counselors or teachers.
- Work to build strong, meaningful, therapeutic connections with clients. CBT Psychology believes that healing occurs in the context of relationships.
- Achieve regular retention rates of 8+ sessions per client. The Standard of care for CBT Psychology therapists is to meet with clients on a weekly or biweekly basis.
- Be available for crisis support to supervisees as needed
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or Psy.D
- A minimum of 5 years unsupervised experience and experience leading a clinical team of any size.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
- Demonstrable skill with empirically validated treatment measures and training including experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other science-based approaches
- Clinical experience with Children/Youth, Adults, Couples and/or Family Counselling
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to respectfully and tactfully interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage a rapidly growing clinical team
- Superior critical thinking, organizational, time management, decision-making, teaching, and continuous learning skills
- Experience supervising and managing. Demonstrated leadership and collaborative teamwork skills.
- Participate in ongoing professional development through training, books and workshops.
- Actively contribute to the CBT Psychology culture by engaging in activities and opportunities that foster connection, collaboration, support, and gratitude (i.e. weekly team meetings)
- Serve as an ambassador of CBT Psychology to the public, willing to share about our positive mental health culture
