The Treatment Process

A usual course of treatment for a specific disorder (i.e.: anxiety) lasts between 8 and 16 sessions, which are typically 50 minutes in length. Frequency of sessions: weekly or every two weeks. Long term treatment also provided when required. The ultimate goal is to teach clients skills and techniques that will help them:

Create a greater sense of control over emotions in challenging situations
Identify and address cyclical patterns of dysfunctional behaviour
Generate a sense of achievement, competence and self control
Increase self-esteem and self-respect
