Life can feel like a grinding routine at times, leaving us exhausted and unable to move toward the goals we have set for ourselves. Echoes of past trauma, unfulfilling relationships, or shameful failures may be standing in our way. Perhaps you know what you want, but not how to get there. Old habits and limiting internal stories may make moving on with your life feel overwhelming.
I believe you are the expert in your own life; I listen with intention to help you reframe challenges and explore issues that may be standing between you and the realization of your full potential. I will work with you at your pace to create a trusted, safe, space where we can work side-by-side to begin to build the life you want for yourself.
I have experience working with people experiencing the aftereffects of trauma, anxiety, depression, and lack of motivation. I draw from a range of modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness, applied within a framework of client-centered therapy. Together we will experiment and develop an approach that will help you overcome the symptoms, beliefs, or emotions that may be preventing you from creating the full and satisfying life you want.
I am a CRPO registered psychotherapist (qualifying); a graduate of the Yorkville University Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. My own experience of success as a psychotherapy client, along with a desire to help people meet their full potential, lead me to this field after a long and successful career in libraries. I have experienced marriage and divorce, the grief of parental loss, and raising a child alone. My own life has been full of challenge and change; I am ready to listen and help.
