Biography: Janet Marmur is a Registered Social Worker with over 30 years of experience providing counselling to children, teens, and adults using a variety of treatment approaches including CBT, narrative, solution-focused, ACT and DBT informed. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from McGill University and a Master of Social Work from York University.
Janet has a unique ability to connect with children, youth and adults. She helps people develop coping strategies to better manage the stresses and challenges of daily life that they identify. Janet supports them through periods of life transitions, in school (elementary through university) and in the workplace, and assists them in working through a broad range of issues including anxiety, social anxiety, depression, loss, mood problems, relationship issues with peers and family, as well as school-based concerns related to learning challenges and peers.
Janet’s extensive experience includes individual, group and family counselling in a variety of settings including a child and adolescent mental health clinic, Family Practice Unit of a Toronto teaching hospital as well as in elementary schools, high schools and a day treatment program.
